“We went to a park to pass out fruit and water and tell people about Jesus.  At first I was afraid.  And then once I started [evangelizing], I could have been out talking to people all night!”  - Maurine in Orlando, Florida

Our payroll rep notified me that she's being transferred to Portland.  Since today would be our last chat, I prayed, "Lord, tell me what you want me to know about her. Tell me what to say."  It occurred to me to ask her if she knew of a church where she could attend up there.  She proceeded to tell me her history of faith.  I was able to relate:  ‘All the while growing up I was told that if you are good enough, you get to go to heaven. Then when I was grown, I was told that it's not about how good you are.  There's nothing good you can do to get to heaven.  God does it all.  But I thought, nah, that can't be right.  But they showed me Bible verses that speak about how grace was free and that we can't do anything to get it.’  We spoke some more about the two churches she's had experience with, and she said she would think about where to go once she settles in Portland.  She ended with this:  ‘I'll have to look into that grace thing.’  As we were wrapping up the conversation and I was wishing her well, I asked if she'd mind giving me her personal email so I could keep in touch and see how she's doing along the way.  She did.  Now, more prayer needed!”  - Deb in Encinitas, California
